WE are seeing fewer and fewer primary school students in need of our support, as decreasing AIDS-related mortality means there are fewer orphans in these communities.
WITH DECREASING NEED FOR SCHOOL FEE SUPPORT THROUGH BASKET SALES TO ZIENZELE, THE WOMEN IN OUR BASKET-WEAVING GROUPS ARE NOW TAKING THE INITIATIVE TO SELL THEIR GORGEOUS BASKETS INDEPENDENTLY OF ZIENZELE.
THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN OUR HOPE FOR THESE COOPERATIVES- HOORAY!

Women in our basket-weaving cooperatives have been producing higher quality baskets, better and more intricate designs, and consistently higher quantities every year. With true Zienzele spirit, our weavers formed a collective several years ago, in order to work together to market their baskets, and have already established direct wholesale relationships with buyers in Japan, Australia, and South Africa!
